Our certified organic Sel de Guerande sel gris (‘grey salt’) is harvested by hand from the island of Noirmoutier near Brittany, France, and is a key ingredient in Cecile's Ultra Premium bathing salts, salt glows, bath teas and custom products. For 1,500 years, salt farmers have harvested the finest salt in Europe from Guerande in a completely natural cottage industry where the only ingredients are the sea, the sun and man.  

This salt has a light grey color and undergoes no treatment after harvesting - being neither washed, nor refined - thus it keeps its essential nutrients. Salt farmers follow strict harvesting rules as prescribed in the ABF specifications (Agriculture Biologique Francaise- French Organic Farming), making it worthy of having the ABL seal of approval.
